Utah Philips claims that Nevada City, CA is the 'chronosynclastic infindibulum of the New Age Goddamn World' (I'm paraphrasing, but close). But a show I caught on oddball religions (that included Appalachian serpent handlers), spent some time on Sedona, and I suspect it'd give Nevada City a run for its money and then some.
I don't know about Raelians, but there are plenty of alien supporters, people who claim to be alien commanders and the like there. Doesn't matter. It's one of the most beautiful places on earth, always has great places to eat, listen to good music, and stuff to do. For every New Age nut, there's an artist, a naturalist, and a tourist. You just have to sort of love Sedona the way one might love a less electified Vegas. Sure it's tacky, but it is what it is, and some people really dig it.
